Physical Therapist (2 persons) PRO PAK Full time contract Starts from March-April 2019 5 days \/ week Down Syndrome Albania Foundation (DSA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 and works in the field of human rights, with a focus on the rights of people with disabilities. DSA advocates for the rights and needs of individuals with Down syndrome in Albania and provides services for children and adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities as well as support for their parents. Our areas of expertise include; assessment and development of children and young people; drafting individual education plans and following them; parent support through individual counseling and group sessions; trainings with a main focus on teachers, psychologists, language and speech therapists, social workers and other professionals working with individuals with disabilities; publication of practical guides for professional work in the field of disability; design and implementation of advocacy, awareness campaigns and fundraising campaigns; organizing conferences and round tables. DSA is a member of: – Global Down Syndrome Foundation – Down Syndrome International (DSI) – European Down Syndrome Association (EDSA) – European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities (EASPD) The project “PRO PAK”, which DSA is implementing consists in the design and implementation of these activities: 1. Expansion and adaptation of new service spaces in the city of Tirana. 2. Providing therapeutic services for children with disabilities 0-12 years old, personal and social autonomy services for individuals aged 12-25 years old and support for their families. 3. Implementation of 2 Business Plans for the provision of 2 innovative services. To implement the “PRO PAK” project, Down Syndrome Albania must hire 2 (two) physical therapists to offer the following service: 1. Physical therapists will provide in-center therapeutic services for children with disabilities. Be part of the evaluation team and be able to evaluate cases based on specific evaluation protocols. Participate in drafting individual plans. To attend the physical therapy service based on the service protocols. Keeping records for every hour of every child receiving services at our center. Keep in touch with children’s families and provide daily recommendations. Report weekly to Team Leader and Services Director. Comply with DSA internal regulations. Participate in any activities that DSA organizes at the center and outside. – Degree in physiotherapy – Master in physiotherapy (is a master advantage in pediatric rehabilitation) – License to practice the profession – Minimum 1 year work experience with children with disabilities – BMS method trainees have an advantage – Updated CV -Letter of Interest Those interested should send their CV together with a letter of interest to f.shehu@dsalbania.org and e.zaimi@dsalbania.org with the subject “Physical Therapist – PROPACT”.
