Down Syndrome Albania Foundation (DSA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 and works in the field of human rights, with a focus on the rights of people with disabilities.

& nbsp;

DSA advocates for the rights and needs of individuals with Down syndrome in Albania and provides services for children and adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities as well as support for their parents. Our areas of expertise include; assessment and development of children and young people; drafting individual education plans and following them; parent support through individual counseling and group sessions; trainings with a main focus on teachers, psychologists, language and speech therapists, social workers and other professionals working with individuals with disabilities; publication of practical guides for professional work in the field of disability; design and implementation of advocacy, awareness campaigns and fundraising campaigns; organizing conferences and round tables.

DSA is a member in:

– Global Down Syndrome Foundation

– Down Syndrome International (DSI)

– European Down Syndrome Association (EDSA)

– European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities (EASPD)

The project “PRO PAK”, which DSA is implementing consists of the design and implementation of these activities:

1. Expansion and adaptation of new service spaces in the city of Tirana.

2. Providing therapeutic services for children with disabilities 0-12 years old, personal and social autonomy services for individuals aged 12-25 years old and support for their families.

3. Implementation of 2 Business Plans for the provision of 2 innovative services.

1. The Team Leader will support the Director of Service, oversee the evaluation process, therapeutic supervision, and lead the in-house early intervention program.

Participation in the evaluation process as well as preparation of evaluation reports.

Contributes to the development of individual treatment plans.

Provides continuous education of staff on new protocols and new intervention methods.

Supervises the therapeutic process.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between all team members including therapists, parents and outside professionals.

Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the team by providing the necessary documents, materials, updated dates for evaluations and therapeutic interventions, etc.

Plan evaluation / reassessment periods and coordinate the evaluation team.

Update and maintain the data system and distribute information to the team.

Collect, record, and summarize data on children’s observable behavior.

Conducting parent training in accordance with child treatment protocols.

Communicate effectively with parents and carers about the child’s progress as directed.

Maintain the confidentiality of all children.

Use safe and appropriate delivery and instructional procedures when working with children.

Comply with DSA internal regulations.

Participate in every activity that DSA organizes in and out of the center.

– Degree in Psychology

– Master in clinical, school or special pedagogy psychology

– Advanced training in therapeutic intervention methods for children with disabilities

– Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of Disability

– Minimum 1 year experience in the position of Team Leader
